Individual Therapy for High-Achieving Women
You're smart enough to understand your patterns. That doesn’t mean you know how to change them.
Modern life can be exhausting, and when you’re the go-to fixer and “responsible” one, it’s all the more draining. You might be tired of overthinking everything and feeling disconnected from yourself - like the “just push through it” approach isn’t working anymore.
I’m Dr. Amanda Etienne, a licensed psychologist offering anxiety and trauma therapy using CBT, ACT, and EMDR therapy for women who feel emotionally maxed out and overstretched. My clients are high-achieving, thoughtful, and self-aware — yet constantly caught in cycles of self-doubt and pressure to keep it all together. Through individual therapy, I help you slow down, find clarity, and rebuild self-trust so you can move from high-functioning anxiety to real calm and connection.
What I help with:
ANXIETY: overthinking, perfectionism, procrastination, fear of judgment, feeling on edge
TRAUMA: past events affecting your current experience, often showing up as people-pleasing, emotional disconnection, guilt and shame, or trust issues.
How it works:
No commute, no awkward waiting rooms, no pretending you’re fine under fluorescent lights. We meet virtually - whether you're curled up on your couch, parked in your car between meetings, or in your favorite oversized hoodie hiding from the world. Therapy for anxiety and trauma should fit into your real life, not the other way around.
Each 50-minute session is focused and collaborative. I draw from CBT, ACT, and somatic therapy to help you look beneath the overthinking, self-doubt, and “just push through it” mode. This is a space to slow down, get clear, and start responding to life from a place of intention - not pressure.
Let’s get your questions answered.
-
Individual sessions last about 50-minutes. A first session, or intake session, focuses primarily on what brings you to therapy, your goals, and relevant background. In later sessions, we’ll create a personalized plan to meet your needs - whether you’re seeking anxiety therapy, trauma therapy, or general support.
Sessions will vary person to person but tend to be focused on guided exploration, brief experiential exercises, and emotional processing using approaches like CBT, ACT, somatic therapy, or EMDR therapy. We will recap at the end of sessions and create a plan for the next.
-
Weekly individual therapy sessions allow for us to work on how concerns are showing up in your life now, as the weekly model gives us information as we apply different practices and approaches in your life. We get direct feedback from your day to day experience to explore in therapy, and this allows therapy to be truly tailored to your life and experience. As clients feel more confident, they often "drop down" to biweeky or monthly sessions for continued support or long-term therapy maintenance.
-
With these sessions, you receive treatment tailored to your unique needs. This holistic approach addresses both day-to-day struggles as well as underlying issues, which leads to lasting healing that allows you to feel more satisfied and to participate in your life more fully.
All treatment is rooted in my expertise in anxiety therapy, trauma therapy, and behavior change, drawing from evidence-based approaches like CBT therapy, ACT therapy, EMDR therapy, and somatic therapy, Working consistently with a therapist offers structure and support for meaningful, long term therapy progress - not just temporary relief.
-
Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and include a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals.
Individual sessions are $250 per session, and may be eligible for partial reimbursement using out-of-network benefits.
I offer free phone consultations to discuss your needs and answer questions about anxiety therapy, trauma therapy, and long-term therapy options.
-
The frequency of therapy sessions varies based on your individual needs and goals. Many people start with weekly therapy sessions to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship.
As you start noticing changes, you may decide to meet less often — shifting to biweekly or long term therapy for continued growth and support. We’ll regularly check in to see what’s working best for you and adjust together.
-
The length of therapy depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people see significant changes in a few months, while others choose long term therapy for deeper work and ongoing support. Whether you’re beginning anxiety therapy or trauma therapy, we’ll tailor the process to fit your pace and priorities.
-
Starting therapy is as simple as reaching out for an initial consultation. During this call, we’ll talk about your goals and how anxiety therapy, trauma therapy, or other approaches like CBT therapy, ACT therapy, or EMDR therapy might help.
